Fall is just around the corner! Before you know it, the weather will start to cool down and the leaves will begin changing colors. Don’t miss out on all the fun seasonal decorating. We’ve got some top-notch decorating tips to help you prep for fall!
Nothing Says Fall Like Burlap
Invite the colors and textures of fall into your home and yard this season. You can’t go wrong with burlap scarecrows! Make a single scarecrow with straw, burlap, a flannel shirt, and denim jeans. You could also just use burlap and straw to create an entire family of scarecrows. This could be a fun project to make with the kids, too!
We love to decorate scarecrows with silly faces and hats. For added color, surround them with mums, pumpkins, or your favorite fall flowers. Scarecrows make great decorations in your yard or on your front porch. If you don’t have pets, you can opt for indoor scarecrows.
Looking for another way to incorporate burlap into your home design? Switch out a summer wreath for a burlap one. We recommend adding ribbon and sunflowers to make it pop with color. You can also add tiny pumpkins and gourds to it.
Spruce up your dining table with burlap placemats or use a long piece as a table runner. If you just want a hint of burlap, use small strips of burlap to create DIY napkin rings.
Gather Around the Table
Your table centerpiece should be the center of attention for your fall interior design this year. We love to gather orange and white pumpkins and gourds in a basket. Cover your dining table in a red or maroon fall tablecloth or opt for decorative placemats instead. You can also decorate your home by adding good-quality furniture pieces at cheaper prices through Black Friday furniture deals online. For a pop of yellow, we love to put tall sunflowers in a beautiful vase. The possibilities are endless, so have some fun with it!
Choose a rich dark brown formal dining table to complement the colors of fall. Check out the Cabanas 8 Piece Dining Set and other dining tables from American Freight Furniture and Mattress. We offer a great selection of casual and formal dining tables.
Outside Décor
Take traditions from your childhood as inspiration for your outdoor fall decorating style. Incorporate your memories of hayrides with bales of hay stacked among your scarecrows. Use an old wash bin and plastic apples to make a “bobbing for apples” display. Use candy corn colors to inspire a ribbon arrangement around cornstalks.
